About Me

Marine Veteran, Father, East Texan, and Aspiring IT Professional.

Hello, I'm Michael

I was born and raised in Nederland, Texas, but my family relocated to Gladewater, Texas in 2006 after Hurricane Rita. After graduating high school, I worked as a security technician and a media assistant at a church while attending Kilgore College - roles that were exciting but left me searching for something more. That search led me to the Marine Corps, where I enlisted and served on active duty from 2015 to 2019, followed by inactive reserve service through 2023. I was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where I served as a Sergeant leading a team of infantry mortarmen - an experience that shaped me in more ways than I can count.

In early 2020, I met my wife, and together we've built a life in East Texas. In 2023, our son Oliver - everyone calls him Ollie - was born, and becoming his father has been the most rewarding chapter of my life. As our family grows, so does my drive to grow personally and professionally. I've returned to school to pursue a degree in technology, a field that has always fascinated me. The ever-evolving nature of the industry keeps me curious, and I'm excited about the opportunities it continues to open up.

Outside of school and family life, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and attending church. I'm an avid gamer and make time to play with friends whenever life allows. I also have a passion for working on cars and playing instruments - piano and guitar are my go-tos - creative outlets that help keep me grounded through whatever challenges come my way.
